The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has been updated with many modern features that make it more pleasurable and easier to drive. With advanced technologies that are both smart and functional, the 2020 Silverado is capable of handling any challenge.

1. Trailering Technologies

The 2020 models of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 are equipped with a new and expanded advanced trailering system that makes it both easier and safer to haul boats and trailers. For starters, there are now 15 unique camera views that provide a variety of angles for better viewing.

The transparent trailer feature uses a tailgate-mounted camera to help you virtually see through your trailer when backing up, parking, making tight turns, or merging into traffic. It takes multiple images and stitches them together, giving it the appearance that you’re seeing right through the trailer. There’s also an additional socket on the bumper where you can plug in another camera so you can monitor your cargo while driving.

Also available in 2020 Silverado models is the iN-Command control system from ASA Electronics. This can be accessed through the myChevrolet app on your smartphone or through the in-vehicle trailering app on your Silverado’s infotainment system via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The myChevrolet app includes trailering tools such as a pre-departure checklist, how-to videos, a glossary with trailer terms, and trailer light tests.

In addition to the trailering information, the app also allows you to start or stop your engine, lock and unlock your doors, view diagnostic information, set parking reminders, and send your destination to your navigation system. The app syncs automatically, giving you up-to-date information at your fingertips.

2. Adaptive Cruise Control

The 2020 Silverado is available with an adaptive cruise control camera. This system includes a high-mounted camera that is set behind the rearview mirror. The camera has sensors and scans the road ahead and uses algorithms and software to determine a safe distance from the vehicle ahead of you. Once the distance is determined, it will maintain it for you as well.

3. Infotainment and Driver Information

All trim levels of the 2020 Silverado now include a 7-inch touch screen as standard equipment. The infotainment system can be personalized to fit your needs and even has the functionality to allow a second driver to personalize it to their style as well. Additionally, you’ll find Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, which allows you to access your favorite playlists, voicemail, text messages, live traffic information, lane guidance, and maps easily.

Move up to the LT trim and you’ll get a larger 8-inch touch screen with two additional USB ports and OnStar. You’ll also have the advantage of a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot in your truck, so you can easily stay connected while on the go. Up to seven devices can be connected at once giving you access to the internet. Available extras in some trim levels include wireless smartphone charging and an upgraded audio system.

An available 15-inch diagonal head-up display projects pertinent information directly on to the windshield. Information such as your vehicle’s speed, active safety alerts, and navigation.

With so many modern features in the 2020 Silverado 1500, it’s no wonder this truck is so capable on and off the road.
